Katie E. Meece

Estates and Elder Law

Bio

Attorney Katie Meece is an associate attorney with Mooney Law who works in the Estate Planning, Elder law, and Estate Administration department. Born and raised primarily in Atlanta, Georgia, but moving around several times during her childhood, Katie had the unique experience of being involved in many different communities and environments early on. This prompted her interest and passion for a career in advocacy and community involvement. After graduating from Montclair State University with a major in Jurisprudence and a minor in Business Administration, she moved to Pennsylvania to attend law school.

During law school, Katie was actively involved in the community which included an internship at Senator Bob Casey’s office where she was able to address many constituent concerns. She was part of the first graduating class of Dauphin County’s Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) class in addition to serving as big sister in the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region. She also interned at the Central Pennsylvania Law Clinic where she had the opportunity to get involved with family law matters and drafting of several wills.

Before joining Mooney Law, Katie’s experience was primarily in workers’ compensation defense work. While distinct in practice area, it gave her a unique perspective on dealing with issues of emotional intensity similar to those involved in many estate planning and elder law cases. In sum, Katie’s interests, passions, and goals are focused on a proactive approach. Her mission is to assist her clients through providing structure and support through any set of challenges, whether that be asset protection, allocation or establishing a plan for the future.
