Attorney Dan Topper is a General Practice Attorney with Mooney Law. He operates out of our Gettysburg Office located at 18 East Middle Street, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Prior to joining Mooney Law in November of 2023, Attorney Topper worked in private practice in Hanover, Pennsylvania, primarily practicing in the areas of criminal defense, family law, property law, and municipal law. Dan’s previous positions include years as a law clerk and then prosecutor in Adams County.
Attorney Topper is a 2005 graduate of The University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor’s Degree in Premedical Studies. During his time at Notre Dame, Attorney Topper interned with MidAtlantic Cardiovascular Associates where he performed research and field study for a presentation regarding the long-term effectiveness of radioactive drug eluting stents. Following a few years as a high school mathematics teacher, Attorney Topper earned a Juris Doctor degree at the Dickinson School of Law in 2013.
Throughout his years of practice, Attorney Topper has developed a thorough understanding of all aspects of criminal law and is capable of providing excellent representation throughout every stage of a criminal proceeding. He has participated in thousands of criminal cases at every stage up to and including appeals to state and federal appellate courts. Attorney Topper also represents clients in family court, numerous civil litigation matters including property disputes, and municipal matters such as zoning and ordinance issues. His lengthy experience in each of these areas ensures that clients will be heard and well-represented.
Attorney Topper is originally from McSherrystown, Pennsylvania, and is a die-hard Notre Dame, Miami Dolphins, and Baltimore Orioles fan. Dan resides with his beloved wife and children in Gettysburg. In his free time, he enjoys hiking in numerous state and national forests, fishing, amateur astronomy, and golf.
