Attorney Justin M. Heisler is a native of Spring Grove, Pennsylvania, and a 2005 graduate of Spring Grove Area High School. Attorney Heisler focuses his practice of law in Criminal Defense, Family Law (Divorce, Custody, Guardianship and Adoption), Civil Litigation, and basic Business Formation and works out of the firm’s York office. Attorney Heisler is currently licensed to practice law in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
Attorney Heisler earned his Bachelor’s degree in Professional Writing, with a minor in Political Science, from York College of Pennsylvania, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude. Attorney Heisler earned his law degree from Widener University School of Law in 2013, where he graduated Cum Laude. During his law school years, Attorney Heisler took the opportunity to study abroad for one month in Switzerland at the University of Lausanne. Attorney Heisler first joined the Mooney Law team as a paralegal for the firm. During his time as a paralegal, Attorney Heisler had the opportunity to work closely with several general practice attorneys in the firm on a variety of cases and expand his knowledge of the law.
Prior to joining the Mooney Law team, Attorney Heisler gained experience both as an intern for the York County District Attorney’s Office, from 2012 to 2013, and as a law clerk for the Honorable Michael E. Bortner from 2013 to 2014. While at the District Attorney’s Office, Attorney Heisler served as a certified legal intern. In this capacity, Attorney Heisler researched and drafted appellate briefs, handled indirect criminal contempt hearings, and aided the vehicular unit doing the following: calling cases during Pre-Trial Conferences; researching and drafting specific legal documents for the unit; and preparing for and arguing pre-trial motions such as suppression motions. While working as a law clerk, Attorney Heisler completed many tasks for the Honorable Michael E. Bortner including but not limited to the following: researching case law; drafting opinions regarding a variety of motions; preparing jury instructions; coordinating the Judge’s calendar; and reviewing notes and research with the Judge.
Attorney Heisler has been quite busy making the transition from paralegal to attorney and building a successful and growing practice in the York area. In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, fly fishing, reading, and spending time with his family and lovely wide Jennifer Worley Heisler.
